Yoon Sun Choi

Peter Hum calls Yoon Sun Choi "an assured, maverick musical spirit whose risk-taking pays off." Originally from Toronto, Canada, Yoon has been shaking up the New York City jazz scene since 2001. More than merely the sum product of a degree in classical theory and composition, another in vocal jazz performance, and a lifetime listening to pop and rock, in her music Yoon has created a new sound, unclassifiable and fresh, and yet solidly rooted in a jazz improvising tradition.
